Passenger Data Captured Electronically for the First time Ever

Did you know that ever since Vanuatu started collecting visitors data, this process was all done manually by capturing the details of individual passenger cards?

This could be up to 700 passenger cards per day, and that’s just from Port Vila’s Bauerfield international airport alone. Imagine the workload of our Statisticians.

This has all changed this week when the Vanuatu National Statistics Office are now able to access this information online with just a click of a button, so to speak. Thanks to the capturing of this data by Customs on the new ASYCUDA Passenger Module nationwide.

Even Law Enforcement Agencies in Vanuatu are given the access to easily search for passengers of interest on this online platform, within a matter of seconds. The data is as instant as to when the last person that crosses our borders is processed by Customs.

History in the Making!
