Vanuatu customs in collaborations with Vanuatu Bio Security has now introduced and adapted new level of package examinations/ inspection at Vanuatu International Airports that is both at Bauer field and Pekoa International airports. This simply means all travelling packages will be subjected for x rayed or check through x ray machine.
Token of words of acknowledgement is humbly due to the Turkey Government who has after 34 years positively recognised the Vanuatu Government request and has not delayed to action the call. Official handing over took place on Thursday 18 December 2014, received by the Honourable Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Bio Security, MP David Tosul on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu.
X Ray Machines are in full operations and has already reflecting positive results in terms of detecting restricted, prohibited and excessive goods, hence attracting additional tax/ related fees/ revenue collection and interdicting alleged offenders or law breakers.
To avoid disappointment, embarrassment and/or encounter in an adverse situation, It is therefore best to be honest and declare what is required to be declared.
