The Summary of the criterion
It is also important to note that before one could get a driving license he or she must first get a learners license. A learner’s license can be obtained at the cost of VT 1,500 per license category and it is valid for one year. However, it can be renewed if one feels he/she is not confident enough to undergo a driving test with the Police.
A driving license can only be issued by Rates & Taxes Section if one passes this driving test. The license fee is VT 5,000 and has a validity period of 3 years. However, for one to apply for a learner driving license or a driving license he/she must first obtain a valid medical certificate. It is a requirement under the Act that the certificate accompany these applications. Driving license renewals carry the same requirement and fee as that of new licenses.
