Vanuatu Customs attended Risk-Based Passenger Selectivity regional workshop, in Cheonan, South Korea.

Vanuatu Customs attended and participated in the Risk-Based Passenger Selectivity workshop  conducted by WCO/Asia Pacific Region and was held in Cheonan, Korea from 09th -13th of June 2014. 

The workshop was facilitated through World Customs Organization and was hosted by the Korean Customs Service in particular the Customs Border Control Training Centre and funded by Japanese Customs Services. 

A total of 33 participants from 28 Customs administration from the Asia/ Pacific Region attended this workshop and Vanuatu Customs was also part of this important Workshop.  

Risk-Based Passenger Workshop

WCO Asia Pacific Regional Worshop on Risk-based Passenger Selectivity

The one week workshop was aimed to cover main elements of organization risk management and then focus on risk-based passenger selectivity by examining several elements of risk assessment, profiling and targeting, including information and intelligence. The participating Countries also have the opportunity to understand the risk assessment and learning circle, including risk identification, analysis, evaluation and prioritization. There were also presentation of different countries regarding the risk areas and risk indicators and prioritization of it. 

 The 28 different Customs administration also share and learn from each the best practices and experiences implemented and also the way forward as proposed by WCO in the Risk Management Compendium. 

Participating countries who attended the workshop were encouraged to introduce this working tool within their administration.
