We are an organization established to protect Vanuatu's border, facilitate trade and collect revenue. This section includes all the services provided by DCIR.

The Harmonized System or HS, is the common name for an international goods classification system called the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System.

(1) If a person requires the services of a Customs officer:

     (a) outside the normal working hours of Customs; or

     (b) at a Customs controlled area; or

The money that the Government uses to manage our country, provide education, health facilities, to fund police and the justice system, to build roads and infrastructure, comes partly from the taxes and other revenue collected by the Department of Customs and Inland Revenue.

It has become apparent that a large number of vehicles on the road carrying exempted plate numbers has either already expired OR vehicle owners driving such exempted vehicles are not entitled to hold those plate numbers.

Who We Are?

Customs and Inland Revenue, is a large and diverse department with over 100 employees spread across Vanuatu. With Office locations in Port Vila and Luganville and the provincial centers at Lenakel, Lakatoro, Saratamata and Sola.

What We Do?

To protect the community from potential risks arising from international trade and travel, while facilitating the legitimate movement of people and goods across the border, and collect legislated government revenue.
